CLEARWATER, Fla. — Detectives arrested a man after they said he rammed into another driver four times on the highway.

It happened Thursday morning. The victims said they were driving into work and it was about 7:45 a.m.

Both trucks were driving south on U.S. Highway 19.

Joseph Houdyshell and his brother-in-law tried to get around the other driver.

“This guy just got mad and started hitting his breaks so I went around him so I could avoid him. (I) got down the road and then the next thing I knew he was right next to me, trying to push me into the median,” Houdyshell said.

Detectives charged Ammirati with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.

“I was scared. I had no clue what his agenda was,” Houdyshell said.

In the arrest affidavit, detectives stated Ammirati told them Houdyshell hit his truck and that he “did not intentionally drive into the victims’ vehicle”.

Houdyshell disagrees.

“That’s….that’s totally insane,” Houdyshell said.
