Clearwater PD investigates dozens of unlocked vehicle burglaries, guns stolen in five cases

The Clearwater Police Department is investigating nearly 30 unlocked vehicle burglaries, five of which, guns were stolen from vehicles. 

Police say those guns are often used to commit other crimes in Clearwater and other areas. The Clearwater Police Department wants to remind residents how important it is to always lock your car doors, no matter where your vehicle is parked. They also want to warn residents to never leave a gun in an unlocked vehicle. 

Detectives say four to five juveniles were caught on video going through the middle console of one vehicle, and another video shows a teen pointing the gun at a friend, according to police.
