A popular portrait studio with several locations in Florida and the Tampa Bay area has closed without explanation.
According to our ABC affiliate in Orlando, WFTV, managers of a store there were told to stop everything last Thursday. They also say they do not know if they will receive their last pay check or if customers will receive refunds or the pictures they already took.
"They're trusting us with their memories, and now some of that is gone because they can't even get them," former assistant manager Susan Padilla told WFTV in Orlando.
The two locations in the Tampa Bay area are inside of Sears at the Citrus Park mall and inside of buybuy BABY in Brandon.
The Picture People website is currently unavailable. We tried calling the Tampa Bay locations and the voicemail said they were "closed" and other voicemail options were ultimately said to be "invalid."
The company has been on the Better Business Bureau's radar for a while now. The BBB received many complaints about Picture People, it is not a BBB accredited business, and it has an overall "F" rating.
