RIVERVIEW, Fla. — A Riverview woman's estranged husband was shot and killed after showing up at her house and pointing a gun at deputies early Friday morning.

Two deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responded to the 11000 block of Estates Del Sol Dr in Riverview, shortly after 3:00 a.m., after receiving a call about a woman finding her estranged husband inside her home and not wanting to leave.

When deputies Joshua Berrios and Dannett Brennan arrived on scene the 60-year-old estranged husband, who has not been identified, was in the neighbor's yard with two small objects in his hands. One was a beer in a koozie and the other was a small silver gun.

Deputies told the estranged husband to drop both. He instead threw the beer over the fence and raised his gun at them, Sheriff Chad Chronister said during a 7:00 a.m. news conference.

In fear of their lives, both deputies began shooting at the estranged husband. Sheriff Chronister said they shot him multiple times causing him to die on scene.
