Tampa-St. Pete formally announces bid for Amazon HQ2 with video proposal

Posted

Mayors Bob Buckhorn and Rick Kriseman have put a proposal video out on social media platforms as part of their bid to get Amazon to build their second headquarters in the Bay area.

The second location is dubbed "HQ2," the facility will cost at least $5 billion to construct and operate and will employ as many as 50,000 workers.

Cities and regional economic development organizations have been invited to submit proposals, and Tampa-St. Pete submitted their bid on the October 19 deadline.

The Pinellas County Economic Development posted the video to Facebook, and other social media platforms.

The post refers to Tampa Bay as the right choice for Amazon's HQ2 with the hashtag #AlexaNeedsATan.
