TAMPA, Fla. -- The Humane Society of Tampa Bay released surveillance video Monday showing a vehicle they believe is connected to a hit-and-run crash causing hundreds of dollars in damages.

Maria Matlack says a blue BMW plowed through a play yard often used by dogs at the animal shelter.

"Thankfully none of our dogs, staff or volunteer members were out there during that time," said Matlack. "That could have been a very fatal situation."

The Tampa-based nonprofit has erected a temporary fence as the crash caused an estimated $1,000 in damage.

"To have no regard and just keep going is sickening to us and we really hope that this person is found so that justice is served," said Matlack.

If you have any information about the hit-and-run, call the Tampa Police Department.
