RIVERVIEW, Fla. — Two families in Riverview were featured on ABC's Great Christmas Light Fight on Monday, December 11 at 8 p.m.
Mike Richards and Rob Silver have been neighbors for four years — they started out as friendly competitors, trying to see who had the best light displays.
Silver tells ABC Action News he had a traditional Christmas light display for the neighbors to enjoy, then his neighbor moved in with the modern, bright LED lights.
"If you can't beat them, join them," he joked.
Richards runs his own lighting and music production company, which helped him synchronize the lights and the music. And Silver owns Dynamic Painting USA, so he specializes in colors.
The two started decorating for the show in September, and shot video with the Great Christmas Light Fight in October.
They have eight songs that are synchronized to the light display.
Taniya Nayak is the judge that checked out the Silver and Richards light display.
The homes are located at 9227 and 9229 Sunnyoak Drive in Riverview. The light show display is on from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
