ODESSA, Fla. -- Lori Rivera stopped by Sam’s New York Pizza in New Port Richey to feed her kids and give them a change of scene.
“This, just to get them out a little bit from the stir-craziness. We don’t know how much longer it’s going to be," she said.
Sam’s is offering free pizza slices for kids whose spring breaks got altered and extended by the coronavirus outbreak.
“It’s an odd situation and just to have the opportunity and be in a position that we can help at all is kind of wonderful," said Sam's owner, Eric Bush.
“There’s always a need, whether you are low income or high income, the kids are home and they want to eat all day long," said Rivera.

Three Brother’s New York Pizza in Odessa is also giving slices to kids out of school.
“It’s just another way to give back because I know parents are reluctant to go out, but they can easily just take these two slices and go," said owner Sean Marsiglia.
The owners of both places say while they are worried about their own sales suffering, they are fortunate most of their business take out.
“This is what we are going to do right now. We are worried about other people. We will figure it out when it’s all over," said Bush.
“It’s actually bringing our communities together and it’s tragedies [that bring] everyone together," said Marsiglia.
