TAMPA, Fla. -- A long, simmering feud involving a Tampa Bay radio personality may be heading to court.

A lawsuit filed on behalf of Bubba the Love Sponge claims his former employer engineered a scheme to get him fired from a competing radio company.

Most of the lawsuit deals with the Nielsen ratings controversy. However, lawyers for Bubba the Love Sponge also claims his former employers played a major role in leaking Hulk Hogan's sex tape with the radio personality's then-wife.

Bubba the Love Sponge, who gained popularity in the Tampa Bay radio scene in the 1990s, "lost" his 6,300-plus square-foot St. Petersburg home, according to a report from the Tampa Bay Times. He previously worked for multiple Tampa-based stations like WHPT 102.5 "The Bone", WXTB and WFLZ.
