Wrong-way driver charged with DUI manslaughter in crash that killed two at Tampa airport entrance

TAMPA, Fla. — Homicide detectives are investigating a deadly crash at the entrance to the Tampa International Airport.

Tampa Police say 30-year-old Alexander Jacobson was driving south on the entrance ramp to the airport when he crashed into another vehicle. The driver and passenger of that vehicle were killed. Police say the driver that was killed was driving for a rideshare company and the passenger in the vehicle was a customer.

Jacobson has been charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter and two counts of vehicular homicide.

Police have not released the names of the victims in accordance with Marsy's Law.

The entrance to the airport from I-275 was closed for several hours during the investigation.
