TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa police are investigating a shooting that injured two teens Tuesday afternoon.

Police said two children, ages 14 and 17, were shot in the 1400 block of East 99th Street.

Both were transported to the hospital by Tampa Fire Rescue. Police said their injuries were not life-threatening.

A tan older model Buick sedan, possibly in the late 90s, with a temporary tag of "CSD6712," was seen westbound on 99th Ave. immediately after the shooting.

The Buick was also involved in a hit-and-run at N. 12th Street and E Linebaugh Ave. moments later. There were no reported injuries in the hit-and-run.

While it is early in the investigation, police say this does not appear to be random.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Crimestoppers of Tampa Bay.
