HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A Plant City man died after crashing into the back of a semi-truck on I-4 early Thursday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol said 45-year-old Erik Walton was driving his compact SUV eastbound on I-4 near Mango Rd. when he rear-ended the semi-truck.

FHP said the semi-truck driver had just pulled onto the outside lane of I-4 after having to repair the truck due to it overheating.
The crash caused Walton to die on the scene. The semi-truck driver was not injured.
There were delays for several hours on I-4 eastbound, but have since cleared up.
