HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A shopping center is heading to south Hillsborough County at the corner of U.S. Highway 301 and Balm Road.

The development of this area has been planned and zoned for several years, it’s between Riverview and Sun City Center.
The shopping center will include a Publix, a nail salon, a 7-Eleven, a Domino’s and a few other restaurants.
The developer tells us within a few miles of the shopping center, there are 20 housing developments under construction.
Just four miles south of the shopping center, Tampa General Hospital just had a soft launch for a new innovative Clinic. It includes an Urgent Care, primary care, and a diagnostic imaging and laboratory center.
Some people have expressed concerns over traffic with so many new developments.
There are 19,000 drivers who travel through the area each day and FDOT is expanding U.S. Highway 301 from 2 lanes to 6.
Right now the county doesn’t have any additional plans to alleviate congestion.
