TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Bay Network to End Hunger (TBNEH) expands Meals on Wheels for Kids (MOW4Kids) to Tampa on Monday.

MOW4Kids launched in March in response to school closures because of the pandemic. Volunteers deliver meals to homes of children 18 years or younger.

The program currently serves Clearwater and St. Petersburg in Pinellas County, Wimauma in South Hillsborough County and Dade City in Pasco County.

MOW4Kids starts serving in Tampa on Monday out of Mort Elementary School at 10 a.m. Deliveries will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

"At the core of this Meals on Wheels program is nutritious food delivered to the homes of children and their families," a press release said. "The program provides meals, shelf stable groceries, including produce, as resources allow. Children may experience an increase in overall nutrition, food security, and feelings of social connectedness from volunteers stopping by."
