TAMPA, Fla. -- A man was shot and killed inside an SUV in Tampa Sunday morning, according to deputies.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a shooting near the area of 131st Avenue East and 15th Street north early Sunday morning. Upon arrival, deputies found a man inside the dark-colored SUV with a gunshot wound. The man was later pronounced dead at the hospital, deputies said.
Officials have not announced an arrest in connection to the shooting. Deputies have not released the identity of the man who was shot and killed.
"This does not appear to be a random act and there is no threat to the public at this time," said Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister in a press release. "Someone out there knows what happened earlier this morning, and I urge you to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office with any information that could help our detectives solve this case."
