BRANDON, Fla. — A lightning strike is being blamed for a fire at a Brandon middle school, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

Crews responded to McLane Middle School shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday. There they found flames shooting through the roof of a building in the middle of the school's campus.
Fire rescue says it took 30 minutes to get the flames under control.

The school district says the new school year will start on time.
No injuries have been reported.
