TAMPA, Fla. — Hundreds of people gathered across the Tampa Bay area to protest after the death of George Floyd.
Peaceful protests in Tampa started around 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Later in the day, protesters began to walk in the streets, closing down several roads in Tampa.
The intersection of Fowler and Bruce B Downs shut down Saturday afternoon after hundreds of people were walking in the street.

This all comes after the death of George Floyd. Derek Chauvin, a now fired Minneapolis police officer, was charged with murder on Friday after held a knee against Floyd’s neck for several minutes, despite pleas from Floyd and bystanders. Floyd died moments later.
