SEFFNER, Fla. — Deputies and SWAT team members are searching for a possibly armed man related to an early morning residential burglary in Seffner, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
At 4:13 a.m. on Friday, May 3, a residential burglary was reported at a home on Highway 579 in Seffner and deputies say one of the items stolen was a rifle.

While deputies were investigating the call, another resident called 911 at 4:20 a.m. to report seeing a man dressed in black holding a rifle who ran away when the homeowner confronted him. At 4:26 a.m. an employee at Commercial Duct Systems located at 9707 Williams Road in Seffner, reported seeing a man inside the building who was dressed in black with his face covered and carrying a rifle. The two employees inside the building at the time of the incident left before calling 911.
Withint 10 minutes, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office was on scene and dispatched SWAT, bomb, crisis negotiators, aviation and K-9 units out of an abundance of caution to help search for the possibly armed suspect and set up a perimeter around the business. The suspect was not located and the Sheriff's Office is now asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect involved in this incident.
