TAMPA, Fla. — Hillsborough County Commissioners voted to rezone 164 acres of property off Lithia Pinecrest Road from agricultural to residential.
The vote, which happened at Thursday night's county commissioners meeting, will allow a developer to build more than 130 homes in the area.
The new neighborhood will go up east of Fishhawk.
People living there are against the new plan. They say it will add 1,200 more vehicles on the already congested Pinecrest Road.
They are also concerned about the development's impact on local schools.
