HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) confirms one person died and paramedics transported to a hospital for evaluation following a boating accident on the Alafia River in Riverview.
Wildlife officers say they responded to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's report of an incident Sunday evening around 7:00 p.m.
The FWC says a boat was pulling two people on a tube on the Alafia River when a person on a Jet Ski collided with the tube.
The incident occurred on the Alafia River, east of the I-75 bridge.
The Sheriff's Office deployed a dive team.
The FWC has not released the identifies of the victims and is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call them at 888-404-3922.
