TAMPA, Fla. — The Deviled Pig in Tampa served up hundreds of free BBQ lunches Wednesday thanks to a Grow Financial Federal Credit Union “on us” program boosting small businesses in Tampa.

Josh Tahan, a local BBQ enthusiast, showed up at Tampa’s Deviled Pig on Wednesday for “a smile and a full belly.”

He was joined at the Dale Mabry stop by hundreds of other grinning BBQ fans, all hungry for a free meal on a beautiful day.

“This is just awesome,” Josh smiled.

The award-winning Deviled Pig, owned by legendary pit-master Lee Ann Whippen, was the inaugural site of “Grow On Us,” a series of fun “free” events hosted by Grow Financial Federal Credit Union.

Anyone who showed up to the Deviled Pig was given a free plate of Whippen’s delicious BBQ.

Future “Grow On Us” events will involve free flowers, free coffee and more.

“As a culture and a society, we need companies and people doing good positive things for each other,” says Grow Financial’s Jared Barr.
