Deputies arrest driver accused of plowing into home, leaving 71-year-old woman pinned under truck

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Hillsborough County deputies have arrested a man they say ran away after driving a truck into the living room of a home, pinning a 71-year-old woman underneath it.

Robert Devon Siders III, 30, was arrested on Monday for leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury, reckless driving with serious bodily injury and driving with a revoked license. Records show that Siders license was permanently revoked in 2010 due to a DUI.

Detectives say that Siders was driving his 2004 Chevrolet Silverado when it crashed into the residence on Pepperfield Drive on Saturday night.

Deputies say Siders ran away from the scene of the crash, leaving a 71-year-old woman pinned under the truck. Several neighbors tried to rescue a woman before firefighters arrived. On Monday, the woman remained in the hospital in critical condition.

Shortly after the crash,  a warrant was issued for Siders arrest. Deputies say he was located on Monday hiding underneath a residence located in the 12000 block of Four Oaks Road.

He was transported to jail without incident. He's being held without bond due to his violation of probation.
