TAMPA, Fla. — Delanie Dennis says she's always in a good mood.

Never grumpy. Not even just after the sun rises.

"I always wake up happy in the morning!" the 8-year-old giggles.

Her parents, Andy and Julie Dennis, confirm her Disney princess-ness.

"Every! Single! Morning!" her father says.

There is one secret to the Tampa girl's mood.

"I love animals," Delanie says. "And I love helping animals."

Delanie is becoming a local celebrity thanks to her remarkable work raising money primarily for pet rescues and shelters.

Thanks to her parents, owners of Tampa's Cafe Delanie and 3 C's Catering, Delanie raised more than $16,000 for 14 different groups.

"Any kid can change the world," Delanie says matter-of-factly.

Each month, she donates proceeds from lemonade sales and select menu items at Cafe Delanie to her animal efforts.

She also sells homemade dog and cat toys from her adorable Lemonade Stand just inside the door of the restaurant.

Delanie personally selects a different group to help each month. She is dedicating her efforts in October to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's K9 Unit.
