9AM JUNE 23 UPDATE | The Brandon cheerleading coach has been accused of having sex with a second minor in Hillsborough County.
It involved a 17-year-old girl who Victor Valenty of Oldsmar began communicating with through SnapChat, Hillsborough County sheriff's spokesman Danny Alvarez said in a statement.
The incident was discovered as a result of the original investigation, Alvarez said.
12AM JUNE 23 UPDATE | A former cheerleading coach will face additional charges in Pinellas County for having sex with a minor.
An arrest warrant was issued by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and served Friday evening for Victor Valenty, who was arrested Thursday in Hillsborough County for having sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.
He remained in custody Saturday at the Hillsborough County Jail on $511,500 bond.
Valenty engaged in sex with the 15-year-old victim at his residence on Old Village Way in Oldsmar, a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office report said. The sexual activity occurred from September 2016 to April 2017.
Valenty is expected to be transferred to Pinellas County at a later date to face the related charge.
ORIGINAL STORY | BRANDON, Fla. — A cheerleader coach in Hillsborough County was arrested on Thursday for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Victor Martin Valenty, 29, was engaging in sexual activity with a now 16-year-old girl between August 2016 and May 2017.
Between March or April 2016 until May 2017, deputies say that the victim received multiple sexually explicit images of Valenty through SnapChat. She was 14-years-old when Valenty began sending the images.
Deputies say that he would travel from his home in Oldsmar to different locations within Hillsborough County to pick up the victim and take her back to his residence to engage in sexual activity.
HCSO says that Valenty is a cheerleading coach at Storm Allstar Cheerleading in Brandon, where he met the victim.
Storm Allstar Cheerleading says that after learning about the allegations against Valenty, he was immediately terminated from the coaching staff.
Deputies say he Valenty admitted to sending and receiving pictures to her. He also stated he drove from his residence in Pinellas County to pick her up in Hillsborough County and drove her back to his residence.
According to his arrest affidavit, authorities had the victim call Valenty to talk about their relationship so they could hear how he would react; during that call, Valenty talked openly about the relationship and also asked the victim not to tell anyone about their relationship.
Valenty has been charged with 10 counts of traveling to meet minor, distributing obscene material to a minor, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, and obscene communication cause allow use of computer pornography.
Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is currently conducting their own investigation. Further charges may be pending.
