TAMPA, Fla. — Long before Tampa Bay was called"Champa" Bay, known for its Championship wins. The city was called Cigar City, known for its cigars.

"Tampa was the world’s largest producer of cigars," said Jeff Borysiewicz, owner of Davidoff of Geneva, a cigar store in Tampa.

That's why more than a year ago, Borysiewicz says he started designing a special box for Super Bowl LV.

"The Davidoff 2021 box has got the skyline and Raymond James Stadium," said Borysiewicz.

But Borysiewicz says the pandemic hit the company hard, and they slowed the production of Super Bowl cigars.

"When everything was shut down we didn’t even know if we were going to have a game. We were a little bit cautious on the amount so there were only 500 boxes and who could’ve predicted that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were going to be in the Super Bowl?" said Borysiewicz.

The celebratory Davidoff Super Bowl cigars sold out fast and making more isn’t that easy.

"A lot of tobaccos that are used in premium cigars are 4,5,6,7 years old. That’s why we can’t just say 'Let’s make some more t-shirts or hats' No it’s not that way," said Borysiewicz.

But if you want to celebrate like the Bucs, you’re not out of luck.
Eric Newman who owns the only cigar factory left in Tampa, says his Diamond Crown cigars were in the Bucs locker room as well and Davidoff of Geneva just got a new shipment.

"There’s no more special event that I could think of to celebrate than a Super Bowl victory," said Newman.
