FAIR SAFETY

As the Florida State Fair organizers prepare for these new features on opening day, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will be working behind the scenes to keep them safe.

On Thursday morning, Sheriff Chad Chronister was at the fairgrounds to celebrate the opening at the annual "Flip the Switch" ceremony at 6:30 a.m.

Sheriff Chronister and HCSO deputies will perform an inspection of games at 8:30 a.m.

“Like every year, we want to make sure people stay safe, have fun and know that their money won't be taken unfairly," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "The game inspections we perform allow fairgoers to have that peace of mind."
