Police warn residents to stay alert after sexual assault reported outside Temple Terrace apartment

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. — The Temple Terrace Police Department is warning residents to remain vigilant after a woman reported she was sexually assaulted by a suspicious group of individuals outside of an apartment complex on Monday night. 

The incident occurred outside of an apartment building in The Preserve at Temple Terrace Apartment Community located at 7855 East Fletcher Avenue. 

The female victim told police she was walking in the apartment community shortly after midnight when she observed a small group of "suspicious individuals," possibly four or five subjects, in the area. She says she walked in a different direction to avoid the group and a few moments later, while walking between two of the apartment buildings, she was grabbed from behind and sexually assaulted. 

The victim described the primary suspect as a male, unknown age, race or ethnicity, wearing a black tube-style mask with a white skull face. The victim was not able to provide descriptions of the other individuals involved.
