A Plant City man was found dead Sunday evening in a home east of downtown.
Police responded to the house at 1319 E. Ohio Street after family members called 911 call around 5:11 p.m. and found Reginald Brown Jr., 36, dead inside with a gunshot wound.
Brown was last seen on Friday, and family members discovered the crime Sunday evening. Detectives are trying to ascertain just when he was killed and by whom.
Police have not named any suspects, but they said Sunday they don't believe there is any immediate danger to neighbors.
The victim's mother tells ABC Action News she doesn't know who would want to take her son's life, but she hopes the police, and God, will bring justice.
"I went in there and it was a mother's worst nightmare," said Brenda Perkins live on ABC Action News at 5 a.m. Monday. "My son, everybody that knows him know he has this infectious spirit about him, a good spirit. And God bless whom he choose, but my son was a good person."
