SEBRING, Fla. -- A bear sighting caused a brief commotion in a Highlands County neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier in the afternoon, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to a call of a bear sighting in Sebring. The reported bear sighting prompted FWC to not allow anyone to leave Sebring Middle School on foot for about an hour before reopening campus doors,
FWC set up a perimeter around the area before the bear ultimately returned to a wooded area.
Officials did not say if anyone was hurt in the bear sighting.
