AVON PARK, Fla. — A school bus carrying 20 kids was hit head on by a truck in Highlands County, the sheriff's office said.
Bus 111 was carrying high school students from Avon Park High School when it was struck head-on by a Ford F-150 on East Cornell St.
One student was taken to the hospital with a minor leg injury. Several other students suffered minor bruises and abrasions.
The two people in the F-150 were also taken to the hospital.
