LAKE PLACID, Fla. — A Lake Placid Councilman was arrested on Thursday on drug-related charges.
According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Donald Edward Boyd, 77, was arrested for three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and one count of battery.
An investigation conducted by FDLE agents and the city of Lake Placid Police Department allegedly revealed that Boyd was providing a variety of prescription pills, including Hydrocodone, Zenzedi and Alprazolam to an individual on multiple occasions over the past several years.
Boyd was booked into the Highlands County Jail.
He will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 10th Judicial Circuit.
