Two pedestrians were run over by vehicles this week while walking into Hernando County stores.
Both accidents happened within miles of each other.
Just after 2 p.m. on Friday, a woman was struck while walking in the crosswalk into the Walmart on Hwy 50 in Spring Hill.
The pedestrian, identified as 76-yr-old Susan Sprague, was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. 81-yr-old Johanne Mantei was driving the vehicle that hit Sprague.
She claimed not see to Sprague crossing in front of her.
On Tuesday, just a few miles west on highway 50 a woman was run over while walking into the Winn Dixie on Commercial Way.
That woman, 67-yr-old Maria Pavao, was airlifted to a hospital where she died from her injuries.
The driver who hit her, 83-yr-old Mary Zemcik, also claimed to not see Pavao.
