The pilot of a single-occupant plane died in a crash in Inverness Wednesday morning.
It happened south of Woodwind Point in Citrus County.
The sheriff's office said it did not know whether or not anybody was impacted on the ground, but the pilot died in the crash.
Officials have secured the site of the crash and we ask that citizen please avoid the area if possible. The Federal Aviation Administration will be taking over the investigation.
