HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — Hernando County schools is offering free flu shots for students.
The district is partnering with vaccine provider Health Schools to offer students the flu vaccine. It comes at no cost to parents.
The vaccine will be given to students at school by a trained nurse. Parents need to sign up by August 27 in order to take advantage. You can do that byclicking here.
The CDC recommends getting a flu shot every year to prevent the flu.
The Hernando County School says they want to make sure the shot is available to every student in their classrooms.
