CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. — Due to severe storms headed into Tampa Bay, Citrus County schools are canceling all after school activities on Thursday.
The district said they have been advised of a severe weather forecast for Thursday afternoon and evening.

"Out of abundance of caution, we feel it is in the best interest of our students and their families to cancel after school activities.
The events canceled includes the Science Fair Awards Ceremony. That ceremony has been rescheduled for Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. at Curtis Peterson Auditorium in Lecanto.
The YMCA after school daycare and tutoring program will continue as planned and are not impacted by this decision.
There will be school on Friday as scheduled.
