CITRUS COUNTY,Fla. — A Citrus County man who allegedly told a school staff member he'd "shoot up" Inverness Primary School will not be charged, according to the state attorney's office.

The Citrus County School District posted on their Facebook Page that 34-year-old Ryan Connell was angry and told a Inverness Primary School psychologist he would "shoot up IPS." That same day, he said the same thing to law enforcement officers who documented it in their reports.

According to the post, Superintendent Sandra Himmel sent a letter to the state attorney's office hoping they would charge Connell, but they responded to her saying that the threat didn't "rise to the level of criminal charges."

Citrus deputies did arrest Connell, but on unrelated charges. Back in July, Connell became unruly after an alternative court date when he was placed back on the felony docket. When deputies placed him in a holding cell, deputies said he kicked the glass several times, causing it to crack. They estimate Connell caused $1,170 worth of damage.

Connell is not allowed to be on any Citrus County Schools campuses from here on out.
