TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa will choose a new mayor on Tuesday night. As Bob Buckhorn counts down the final days of his term as the Mayor of Tampa, Tuesday's runoff election will determine who is going to take his seat.
Former Tampa police chief Jane Castor is going against businessman David Straz. In last month's election, Castor won 48 percent of the vote while Straz got 15 percent.

Castor spent Monday thanking campaign volunteers and urged people to get out and vote.
"You can't take anything for granted." Castor said. "We have to go out there and vote and frankly, you should vote no matter what. That is a right people have lost their lives for the right to vote. You should never take that for granted."
Straz spent his day holding virtual telephone town halls, an estimated 2,500 people tuned in, according to his campaign manager. He was not immediately available to talk about Tuesday's election.
Polls are open Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
