MANKATO, MN — A very scary moment was caught on camera when a car seat, with a 2-year-old girl strapped into it, flew out from the backseat of a moving car Monday in Minnesota. Chad Mock was driving behind the vehicle when he witnessed it and his dash cam video shows him rushing to save the toddler as the car she was in, continues to drive down the road.

Mock tried to flag the car down as it continued down Riverfront Drive in Mankato, Minnesota. He stopped traffic to check on the girl and move her out of the road.

Mock shared the dash cam video on Facebook as "feeling aggravated" with the caption "if it didnt happen in front of me i'd never have believed it....😡 the child was ok. the parents came back. paramedics and police checked the child out as well. very lucky."

Police say the child was properly fastened into the car seat but the seat was not fastened to the vehicle seat. The child's mother was driving the car and she returned to the scene once she realized the child was missing. Thankfully, the child did not suffer any injuries in the incident.

Charges against the mother for child endangerment and child restraint system not fastened have not been filed but police say they are being recommended.

The video is going viral on social media nearly 19 hours after it was posted, with more than 310,000 views.
