PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- Eliseo Santana's bid to run for the Pinellas County Sheriff continues after he earned the Democratic nod in Tuesday's Primary Election.
The former communications maintenance supervisor with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office edged out James McLynas, a local activist.
With 100% of the precincts unofficially reported, Santana earned 53,613 votes (60 percent) while McLynas had 36,245 votes (40 percent).
Santana will face incumbent Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, a Republican.
