It is unclear if a big cable snafu in which CNN was reportedly replaced with porn actually happened.
Some media outlets began reporting on the incident that allegedly occurred around 10 or 11 p.m. EST on Thanksgiving after a Twitter user posted about it. The tweet and stories that followed said cable company RCN aired the R-rated content for 30 minutes around 11 p.m. Thursday, according to reports.
Some media are reporting CNN aired it.
Neither entity has commented on the incident as of 3 p.m. EST Friday, though tweets from RCN show response to the original Tweeter's complaint saying they had no other reports of viewers seeing porn. The Twitter user has since made her account private and tweets unavailable.
One website, Mediaite, is questioning whether the media fell for a fake news story.
If it did in fact happen, no reason for the porn airing instead of "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown" has been given. Twitter users are tweeting with the hashtag #BourdainPorn to talk about the incident.
RCN is a major cable provider based in New Jersey.
