The first ever World Wingsuit Flying Championships begins tomorrow, and it's being held right here in the Tampa Bay Area.
If you've ever wanted to see people jumped from a plane from 12,500 feet in the air, this is your chance. The event is free to spectators, and features competitors from 25 countries, as well as local competitors.
The event takes place at Sky Dive City in Zephyrhills, Florida.
The event includes a "Performance" competition and an "Acrobatic" competition.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
- November 2: Arrival of Judges, Delegations and Official Practice Period
- November 3: Judges Conference and Official Practice Period, Opening Ceremonies and Competitor Briefing
- November 4-6: Competition Jumps Performance Event, ending with closing and awards for Performance on November 6
- November 7-9: Competition Jumps Acrobatic Event, ending with closing ceremonies, awards for Acrobatic, and Banquet on November 9
- November 10: Departure Day
