NASA Astronaut Jack Fischer tweeted a time-lapse video of the Aurora "250 miles above at 17,500 mph."

Fischer likened the Northern Lights to "awesome sauce."

The Northern Lights are visible when large numbers of electrons at high speed stream in towards the Earth along its magnetic field and collide with the highest air particles, according to Tromsø Geophysical Observatory.
