EDGEWATER, New Jersey — Shocking video shows the anxious moments when a group of children had to escape from a burning dance studio in New Jersey.
WABC-TV reports the fire broke out at a complex and spread to the studio where kids were rehearsing.
The video shows the children trapped on a balcony with the fire approaching. As people on the ground try to get ladders up to them, children are forced to jump down and frantically try to climb the ladder, which eventually gets knocked over.
Miraculously no serious injuries were reported.
"Our first responders here, everyone, did a wonderful job getting those kids out, getting the building evacuated and getting the fire contained," Edgewater Mayor Michael McPartland told WABC-TV.
The burning building reportedly housed a car wash, restaurant and the dance studio.
