Venice High School students evacuated due to bomb threat

A bomb threat forced the evacuation of Venice High School in southern Sarasota County.

Students at the school were evacuated to the football field, while investigators checked each building.

All students were accounted for and no one was allowed on campus during the investigation.

Parent pickup was moved to the Venice Community Center, 326 Nokomis Ave. S. in Venice. There was also no no student pickup on the school campus because of the threat.

After a sweep, no devices were found.  The school has since reopened.
