There were at least six shootings in Tampa during the week of June 20. 

Saturday morning, June 25

  • One man with serious injury.
  • No arrests.
  • 2600 block of 18th St. N
  • Does not appear to be random.

Friday morning, June 24

  • One dead.
  • No arrests.
  • Central Av. N. and Columbus Dr. E.
  • Shots fired call where the shooter fled the scene.
  • Reason / motive unclear.

Thursday night, June 23

  • Woman killed by stray bullet.
  • No arrests.
  • Around 9:45 p.m. at Jefferson St. N abd Columbus Dr. E

Maria J. Rivera-Contreras, 57, died from her injuries. An unknown suspect fired a gun during a dispute with child on a bike. A bullet hit Rivera-Contreras in her car as she was backing out onto Columbus Drive after deliver food with family members.

She died at the hospital.

Thursday midday, June 23

  • Man shot outside convenience store.
  • Serious injuries, male victim in his 40s
  • No arrests.
  • Appears suspect and victim knew each other
  • 3500 block of N 22nd Street.

Tuesday afternoon, June 21

  • Double shooting
  • One person dead
  • Kimwana Hamilton, 40, charged with murder and attempted murder

Police say a Tampa man shot at his girlfriend and then drove to another location and shot a man to death. Alfonso Igles, 47, died fin the shooting. The girlfriend survived unharmed as the suspect shot at her and then at her car as she drove off.

Monday evening, June 20

  • Teen, 17, fatally shot. Another teen, 14, injured.
  • Ronnie Thornton arrested, charged with murder, battery and more.

Thornton shot multiple times into an occupied vehicle during an argument over stolen property, injuring one person and killing another.
