The Tampa Guardian Angels plan to patrol Ybor City, Saturday, in response to recent violent attacks.

In less than a month, four people were injured in three separate attacks.

Tampa Police detectives said they are investigating who assaulted two friends walking home Sunday. They are also investigating a brutal robbery of a cook, which also happened Sunday. And they are investigating the assault of a man, who was walking home and was robbed a few weeks ago. At this time, detectives do not think the cases are connected.

“We’re here. We’ve got our eyes on you. Don’t let us catch you doing it ‘cause we will jump in and we will capture you. We will turn you over to the police. You will go to jail,” Alan Perry with the Tampa Guardian Angels said.

Perry said people should expect to see them Saturday patrolling Ybor City like they have done many other nights.

“They’re going to see a lot of us. We’ve got people coming in from other areas to help. It’ll be a slightly larger patrol than normal because a lot of times our visibility is a deterrent,” Perry said.

Whether you notice them or not, the Tampa Guardian Angels said they will be watching, trying to help keep the area safe.

“One of the most frustrating things is trying to be in the right place at the right time. I want to be where the crime takes place (and) when it’s taking place so that I can do something about it,” Perry said.
