A fire early Thursday morning left seven families without a home at Westchester Manor Condominiums, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.
Rescue crews responded to the complex in the area of 9000 N. Central Avenue within minutes after the fire was reported around 2:00 a.m.
Firefighting units from six Tampa stations responded to the battle the flames.
According to the Fire Marshal, the fire started by a malfunctioning washing machine.
Several units were damaged by the fire.
It's estimated the fire caused $450,000 in damage.
