TAMPA BAY — The Tampa Bay community is mourning the loss of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player Vincent Jackson. He died on Monday, Feb. 15.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said Jackson, 38, was found dead on Monday at a Homewood Suites in Brandon.
There are no apparent signs of trauma. The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death and officially identify Jackson's remains based on dental and DNA records.

The Jackson family put out an official statement after the news of Jackson's death:
“We are all mourning the loss of our beloved Vincent. His wife and family ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Jackson in Action 83 Foundation which provides support to military families, focusing on the educational, emotional, and physical health of military children.”
Jackson was influential in the Tampa Bay community. The NFL, Bucs players and members of the community have expressed their condolences through social media to the Jackson family.
