TAMPA, Fla. — Some parts of the Tampa Bay area were hit with severe weather Monday morning and afternoon.
A severe thunderstorm watch was issued throughout ABC Action News' viewing area before expiring at about 3 p.m.
Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Polk, Manatee, Sarasota and Hardee Counties are all included in the watch, according to NWS.

A severe thunderstorm warning had been issued until 1 p.m. for Manatee and Pinellas counties, until 2 p.m. for Hillsborough and Polk counties before expiring.
"Could produce some strong wind gusts, maybe in excess of 55 miles an hour," Meteorologist Greg Dee said. "Overall, the severe threat is pretty low."
