TAMPA BAY AREA — If you have any outdoor plans or Christmas shopping, be weather aware. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to start on Sunday.
"There will be widespread showers all day on Sunday," said Meteorologist Jason Adams. "Sunday will bring a lot of rain in the area. Everyone will get some rain."
Showers and thunderstorms will begin in the overnight hours of Sunday. Some of the rain will be heavy, and isolated strong storms are possible, as well.
Any outdoor plans or last-minute shopping could be impacted by rain.
"We could easily see 1-3 inches of rain from Sunday afternoon into Monday," Adams said. "Some spots could get more than that."
The storms are expected to last until Monday, but thankfully, the system will be out of the area on Tuesday. It will provide drier weather for Christmas.
